            As some of my  mum friends at the park are gearing up to send their little ones to kindy next year, I've been thinking about kindergarteners and all the exciting changes that happen in the coming year.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            There is an incredible journey of communication development in kindergarteners. The kindergarten years are a time of rapid growth and transformation in your child's ability to express themselves, understand others, and connect with the world around them. In this blog post, I'll share some insights and practical tips for nurturing your kindergartener's communication skills, whether they are typically developing or face speech or language challenges.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Kindergarten is a pivotal time in your child's life, where their communication skills undergo significant development. It's not just about learning to read and write; it's about mastering the art of meaningful conversation, expressing emotions, and connecting with their peers and teach
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           ers. Here's how you, as a parent, can support this magical process:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Play, play, play, play, play: Did I mention play? Your child is learning through play so the best tip I can give is to get down on the ground and play with whatever interests your kindergartener.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Promote Conversational Skills: Engaging your child in conversations is a fundamental way to enhance their communication abilities. Ask open-ended questions, encourage them to share their thoughts, and listen actively to what they have to say.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Reading, the Superpower Builder: Reading with your child is one of the most potent tools for nurturing communication. Choose a variety of books and read together regularly. Discuss the story, ask questions, and let them predict what comes next.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Expand Their Vocabulary: Kindergarteners are like sponges, soaking up new words and phrases. Introduce them to new vocabulary, and provide explanations and examples to help them understand the words in context. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Play with Language: Engage in wordplay and language games. Rhyming games, tongue twisters, and playful use of words can make language learning enjoyable.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Grammar Guidance: While it's natural for kindergarteners to make grammatical errors, gently correct them without making them self-conscious. We model language by directly repeating exactly what your kindergartener has said, but using the correct language. Don’t get them to repeat you. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Art of Storytelling: Encourage your child to create stories. Storytelling fosters imagination and helps improve narrative and sequencing skills, which are essential for clear communication.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Social Interactions: Arrange playdates and social activities for your child. Social interaction is a crucial aspect of language development, as it allows children to practise communication in various contexts and with different people.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Limit Screen Time: While educational apps and programs have their place, excessive screen time can hinder communication development. Ensure a healthy balance between screen and non-screen activities.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Visits to the Library: Frequent trips to the library introduce your child to a variety of books and offer opportunities for social interaction. Many libraries also host storytime sessions, which can be both fun and educational.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Patience and Encouragement: Remember that every child develops at their own pace. Be patient and celebrate their achievements, no matter how small. Provide support when needed.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           The Role of a Speech Pathologist

           In some cases, children may face specific speech or language challenges that require the expertise of a speech pathologist. If you notice your kindergartener struggling with communication milestones or if they have a history of speech or language difficulties, it's important to seek professional guidance. A speech pathologist can provide assessments, individualised therapy, and strategies to support your child's unique needs, fostering their communication skills in a tailored way.

            Last week at Days Ahead Speech Pathology was a busy one. We had the exciting opportunity to do the Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk course.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In the realm of language development, the Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk approach stands out as an invaluable tool for parents seeking to enhance their child's communication skills. As a speech pathologist, I am excited to share insights into this approach, shedding light on its principles and how it can positively impact the parent-child dynamic, and ultimately, help your child develop their language.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Today I want to talk about a topic that is very near and dear to my heart: DIR/Floortime and play-based therapy.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As a speech pathologist, I have had the privilege of working with children who have various communication differences. Over the years, I have come across several therapeutic approaches, each with its unique strengths and strategies. In this blog post, I'd like to explore the DIR/Floortime approach, also known as Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship-Based model, from the perspective of a speech pathologist.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            DIR/Floortime is an evidence-based intervention approach that was developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder. It is a comprehensive model designed to promote the development of communication and play. The approach focuses on building relationships, understanding an individual's developmental profile, and facilitating social and emotional growth. DIR/Floortime offers a holistic approach to communication development. It recognizes that communication is not just about words but is deeply intertwined with emotional connections, engagement, and the child's unique profile.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            DIR/Floortime was initially developed with Autistic children in mind. It aims to address the unique developmental differences these children often face. The approach focuses on building social, emotional, and communication skills, which are particularly relevant. In my opinion, the DIR/Floortime approach has the unique ability to support a child at their level, consider their sensory needs and focus on the relationship between the child and their communication partner. Other candidates for DIR/Floortime include children with Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorders, and social and emotional challenges, as well as neurotypical children with language delays or disorders.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            DIR/Floortime emphasises connection over compliance in the therapy-relationship, as it ensures the therapist is 'listening' to your child's cues about their preferences, choices and opinions in play. Meaningful play is by far the most powerful tool in your arsenal when it comes to your child’s development.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Key considerations of DIR/Floortime are as follows:
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            The Foundation of DIR/Floortime: Developmental Milestones

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           One of the core components of DIR/Floortime is its emphasis on developmental milestones. As a speech pathologist, I appreciate how this model takes into account the individual differences in development that children may exhibit. In our practice, we often encounter children who may be delayed in certain areas while excelling in others. DIR/Floortime acknowledges this and tailors interventions to meet the child where they are in their developmental journey.

           DIR/Floortime places a strong emphasis on nurturing relationships between the child and their caregivers, therapists, and other significant individuals in their life. This resonates deeply with the work of speech pathologists who understand that effective communication is intrinsically tied to the quality of the relationships involved. The approach encourages caregivers to engage in meaningful, emotionally connected interactions with the child, which can lead to improved communication outcomes.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Sensory Processing and Regulation
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;

           As speech pathologists, we are acutely aware of the sensory needs and sensitivities that some individuals may experience. DIR/Floortime incorporates sensory processing and regulation as a fundamental aspect of the intervention. By addressing sensory concerns, the approach helps create a more conducive environment for language and communication development. Understanding and accommodating a child's sensory preferences and sensitivities can be crucial in our work to facilitate effective communication.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Communication as a Core Component
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           While DIR/Floortime is not solely a speech and language therapy approach, it recognizes the importance of communication development in the broader context of the child's overall development. Speech pathologists play a vital role in addressing communication challenges within the framework of DIR/Floortime, ensuring that the child's specific communication needs are considered and supported throughout their developmental journey.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Flexibility and Individualization
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            Every child is unique, and the approach recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. This approach encourages therapists, caregivers, and other professionals to tailor interventions based on the child's specific strengths and challenges. This level of customization aligns well with the principles of speech pathology, where individualized treatment plans are paramount.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            As a speech pathologist, I see DIR/Floortime as a powerful approach that harmonises development, relationship-based, and individualised principles. It offers a comprehensive framework that supports not only communication development but also the emotional and social growth of children. By embracing these principles and collaborating with parents and other professionals, speech pathologists can contribute to the remarkable journey of children as they progress through their unique developmental stages, connecting with the world and finding their voices in their own special way.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Sarah from Days Ahead Speech Pathology here. Today I wanted to chat about communication development in babies, as well as an amazing group in my local suburb of Bardon.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Bardon Bubs was started in 2023 by locals Amy and Louise when they identified that local parents with little babies were feeling isolated. As
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           the group quickly grew, another volunteer, Sue, jumped on board to help facilitate the group. Louise and Sue are child health nurses and lactation consultants, and Amy is a Bardon-local who is passionate about fostering community within our suburb. Best of all, the group is open to parents from suburbs across Brisbane.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            During our presentation we spoke to the typical development of communication skills in the first year of a baby's life.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Communication skills you will typically see in the first year of your baby’s life are SO exciting! Every first is magical but I also acknowledge that if your child is not hitting these milestones, it can be fraught with anxiety and worry. I can admit that as a new parent I frantically googled gross motor milestones, YouTube videos from occupational therapists about sleep and rolling, and even communication milestones! In this post, we use the word 'usually', as every child's development is their own. That being said, here is some information we have curated on what to expect in your baby's first year of life.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           By 3 months, your baby will usually smile at you.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           By 3-4 months, your baby will usually:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Make eye contact
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Coo or say ‘ah goo’ or another combination of sounds
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           At 5-7
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            months, your baby will usually:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Use canonical babbling like ‘bababa’ or ‘gagaga’
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Copy some of the sounds you make like laughing or making ‘raspberries’
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Play with creating different sounds, such as "aaieee," and "ahh," at varied pitches and volumes (normally really loudly when you least want them to!). 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Mimic some of your actions, such as waving, pointing, or clapping.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           At 8-9 months, your baby will usually:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Use variegated babbling like ‘ba-di-ga’
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Combine sounds in a rhythmic and tonal manner to create the impression of natural speech - this is frequently referred to as the "jargon phase" 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           At 10-11 months, your baby will usually:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Continue the jargon phase until first words, such as "mama" or "dada," are said, even though the child is still learning the meaning of these terms.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Become more ‘intentional’ in their communication by using gestures or noises to request, protest, greet or persist with something.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           At 12 months of age, speech pathologists are looking for the following communication milestones to have been met by your baby.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In terms of understanding, your baby will usually:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Recognise around ten words.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Show you they know their name by turning their head to their name.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Recognise greetings and gestures like "hi" and "bye-bye."
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Point to a few familiar faces and items (such as your mother, your blankie, or your teddy) when you name them.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Make eye contact.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In terms of expression, your baby will usually:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Continue to babble!
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Mimic different sounds and noises.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            If your baby is not babbling, making eye contact, gesturing, recognising their own name or understanding ten words by 12 months of age, the advice is
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           don’t wait and see
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            . Talk to your family doctor or speech pathologist immediately, so that you can get some tools in your toolkit to support your baby's communication skills.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Having said all this, how do you as a pare
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            nt help your baby meet their communication milestones? Be responsive to your child, get face-to-face and
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           PLAY!
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Play is by far the most powerful tool in your arsenal when it comes to your child’s development. You may be screaming at your screen, “But how do I play with a four month old?!” This is a really fantastic question and something we will touch on in future blog posts (we need to leave you wanting more!). 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
